Exciting news for Western Australian households! WA Labor has announced a proposed $387 million battery rebate scheme, aimed at helping families store excess solar energy, reduce their power bills, and support WA’s clean energy transition—should the proposal be confirmed following the 2025 state election.
If approved, the scheme is set to launch on July 1, 2025, with rebates of up to $5,000 for Synergy customers and $7,500 for Horizon Power customers.
“These WA-first schemes will help thousands of Western Australian households play their part in WA’s clean energy transition – while saving up to $1,500 on their power bills year after year,” says Premier Roger Cook.
Plan Ahead with Confidence To make the most of this opportunity, it’s crucial to plan your battery installation early with a reputable NETCC-approved solar and battery installer like Get Greener NRG.

The WA Government is making solar storage more accessible for local households with the new WA Residential Battery Scheme.
This initiative provides generous rebates to help eligible residents invest in home battery systems—reducing reliance on the grid and increasing the value of their solar setup.
Starting 1 July 2025, eligible Western Australian households will be able to access one-off rebates to assist with the purchase of residential batteries. A total of 20,000 rebates will be available to Synergy and Horizon Power customers:
● Up to 19,000 Synergy customers may receive up to $5,000 ($500 per kWh, up to 10 kWh).
● Up to 1,000 Horizon Power customers may receive up to $7,500 ($750 per kWh, up to 10 kWh).
The final rebate amount will vary based on the size of the battery installed. For the latest updates, visit the WA Residential Battery Scheme website.
